Are you looking to brighten or eliminate eye bags with natural remedies? Then check out the home treatments we’ve provided below.

Your body reflects both your physical and emotional state, especially on the face since it’s so sensitive.

This is particularly evident when it comes to our eyes. The skin under our eyes can sometimes look inflamed or have a dark brown or green color, which can indicate certain health issues.

In general, eye bags can be caused by a lack of sleep, stress, or worries. They can also be attributed to dehydration, fluid retention, and hormonal changes, among other factors.

Home Treatments to Eliminate Eye Bags

Cucumber and Carrot

How to Lighten or Eliminate Eye Bags

You can help naturally eliminate eye bags by cutting a piece of cucumber and carrot and putting them on your eyelids for 15 minutes every night.

Try to keep them in the refrigerator so that they’re very cold and will help your eyelids be more relaxed. Rinse them with very cold water, if possible.

Lavender

Lavender is an anti-inflammatory. We don’t recommend using lavender oil on your skin, but you can pour a drop of the essential oil in water.

Gently rub this mixture on your eye bags with a cotton ball. You don’t need to rinse it off because there will only be a little bit you’ll be putting on.

If you have very sensitive skin, you can make a water and lavender infusion and breathe in the steam.

Ice

As we already know, ice is an ally in regards to inflammation in the body. You can wrap a few ice cubes in a smooth cloth and let sit on your eyes for 15 minutes.

Mint

Blend a few mint leaves with a little bit of olive oil. Put this on a cotton ball and apply it to your lower eyelid before going to sleep. Apply just a little bit to let sit all night and you won’t be bothered at all.

Milk Compresses

Make sure the milk is as cold as possible. Pour it in a glass with strips of cotton. Take them out and put them on your eyelids. Let sit for 20 minutes and remove with plenty of water.

Potato Compresses

You can make this natural remedy very quickly. Peel and cut a potato, put it in gauze, and place it on your eyes. Let sit as long as you can and repeat it frequently day after day so that its benefits are accelerated.

Chamomile

Chamomile has sedative and anti-inflammatory properties. Make a chamomile infusion and add a little bit of natural yogurt. It should have a creamy texture.

Apply this to the area around your eye and let sit for 10 minutes. Remove it with plenty of cold water.

Rose Compress

Pull the petals off a rose and make an infusion with them. Let boil for approximately two hours so that all of the nutrients from the petals are released.

Strain the infusion and wait for it to cool a little. Soak a cotton ball in this infusion and let sit on your eyes for a few minutes and rinse with cold water.

Drink a Lot of Water

As we mentioned above, dehydration is also a cause of eye bags. That’s why it’s important to drink enough water, at least 8 glasses a day.

Tea Compresses

Tea is useful for reducing inflammation and relaxing the body. Boil a bag for 10 minutes then put one on each eye and let sit for awhile. You can do this treatment a few times a day.

Strawberry

Strawberry is an anti-inflammatory. Make a puree with its pulp and apply it to your eyelid. Let sit for a half hour and remove with plenty of water.

Lemon

This recipe is great for lightening eye bags thanks to its vitamin C. Use a cotton ball and put it in a glass of lemon juice. Put it around your eyes, making sure it doesn’t get in your eyes.

Let sit for awhile and wash with warm water. Do this two or three times a week.

We hope these home recipes have helped to reduce and eliminate eye bags. If nothing seems to have worked, it’s best to see a doctor, because you may have a more serious underlying issue.
