Eleven Juices to Help Reduce Bloating
It’s thought that some drinks help hydrate you, stimulate urination, and thus reduce inflammation and bloating in your abdomen. They’re usually made of vegetables and fruits. In this article, we’ll talk about eleven juices to help reduce bloating.
Some advice on juices to reduce bloating
- Before consuming any drink that contains plants or herbs, consult your doctor.
- Juices to help reduce bloating are a complementary treatment, not a solution in themselves.
- Maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. If you have doubts about how to do this, consult your doctor.
- Maintain a balanced and varied diet to enjoy good health and avoid stomach discomfort.
- Hydrate your body with water. Never give priority to juices, shakes, or smoothies. They can be good supplements, but they aren’t a replacement for water.
- Consume these juices in moderation and always as part of a balanced diet. Never use them as a substitute for main meals or as a remedy if you’ve eaten too much. They won’t ‘protect’ you against illness either.
1. Aloe vera juice
Refreshing and soothing, aloe vera juice is an option to consider if you’re feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Follow this recipe to prepare it.
Ingredients
- ½ cup of aloe vera gel.
- The juice of 1 lemon.
- ½ cup of water (125 ml).
Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
- If you want a smoother drink, reduce the amount of aloe and lemon and replace it with water.
- Talk to your doctor before trying this juice. That’s because aloe vera can sometimes cause stomach problems.

2. Papaya, oat, and flaxseed juice
The mix of papaya, oats, and flaxseed is exceptionally helpful for reducing bloating as due to its high fiber content, it stimulates gastrointestinal transit.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of papaya, chopped (140 g).
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseed (10 g).
- ½ liter water (500 ml).
- 2 tablespoons of raw oats (20 g).
- A little honey (optional).
Method
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and process them for a few minutes until smooth. Serve without straining.
- Eat as part of a meal or as a snack. Don’t use it as a meal substitute.
- You can vary the quantities of the ingredients if you like. Some people like more of a taste of papaya while others might prefer a stronger oatier flavor.
3. Pineapple, grapefruit, and green tea juice
The third recipe to help reduce bloating has a high water and fiber content. Therefore, it has a diuretic effect which, in addition to helping to eliminate retained fluids, could also help relieve mild stomach discomfort and bloating. This is due to the fiber content of pineapple and grapefruit, two tropical fruits that go extremely well together.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup of chopped pineapple (116 g).
- The juice of 1 lemon.
- The juice of 1 freshly squeezed grapefruit.
- 1 cup of green tea (250 ml).
- Honey (optional).
Method
- Add all the ingredients to the blender except for the lemon juice. Blend for a few seconds until they’re well incorporated.
- Add the lemon juice.
- Drink in moderation.
4. Carrot juice
Carrot juice is another natural drink for relieving minor stomach discomfort. It provides a good amount of fiber and stimulates gastrointestinal transit, which facilitates the elimination of waste.
You can prepare it with a touch of celery to make it more refreshing. Or, add a little ginger for a nicer taste and greater health benefits.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of carrot juice (250 ml).
- Celery (1 or 2 sticks).
- 1 clove of garlic.
- Alfafa.
- Ginger (optional).
Method
- Juice the carrot and the celery, and add them to your blender along with the garlic and alfalfa.
- Process all the ingredients for a couple of minutes. Drink without straining.
5. Plum and apple juice
If you like sweet things, you’ll enjoy this recipe to help reduce bloating and gas. It combines two high-fiber fruits that help combat constipation and stomach discomfort.
Ingredients
- 5 fresh plums.
- ½ apple with peel.
- 1 cup of water (250 ml).
- Honey (optional).
Method
- Process all ingredients in a blender until you reach the desired consistency.

6. Lemonade with celery and ginger
Lemons are really versatile fruits that are popular in home remedies, especially those for stomach discomfort. They’re often used both as a main and a supplementary ingredient. In this recipe, we have 50 percent lemonade and 50 percent celery juice with a hint of ginger.
Ingredients
- The juice of 1 large lemon or 2 small ones.
- ½ glass of water (125 ml).
- Celery (juice of 4 sticks).
- 1 piece of ginger (1 cm).
Method
- Put the celery and ginger in the extractor until you get half a glass of liquid.
- Add the juice of one lemon and fill the extractor with water.
- If you don’t have an extractor, use a blender, adding the water and lemon juice all at once. Strain and drink right away with or without ice.
7. Green juice with cucumber, apple, celery, spinach, parsley, and lemon
Green juice is mainly used to detoxify the colon and thus relieve abdominal inflammation. It’s a really refreshing and healthy cocktail that’ll also strengthen your immune system.
Ingredients
- ½ cucumber chopped.
- 1 green apple.
- ½ stick of celery.
- 1 spinach leaf.
- 3 tablespoons of parsley.
- The juice of 1 lemon.
- Approximately 1 cm of ginger.
- 1 glass of water (125 ml).
Method
- Wash the fruit and the leaves really well.
- Cut the fruit into pieces leaving the peel on. Put the ingredients in the blender and add the water.
- Blend until you have a homogeneous mixture, without lumps. Drink immediately. It should serve two people.
8. Papaya and celery juice
Papaya is another ingredient that reduces bloating and cleanses the colon. This is because it contains enzymes that facilitate digestion, improve constipation, and prevent gastritis.
The following scientific article attributes papaya as possessing antibiotic properties that act against Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Shigella flexneri. Its pulp is also active against Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella typhimurium. and Streptococcus faecalis.
Ingredients
- I cup of papaya.
- Celery (1 or 2 sticks).
- 1½ cups of water (375 ml).
Method
- Cut the papaya into pieces and put it in a blender along with the celery and water.
- Blend all the ingredients for a minute or two. Drink it, preferably on an empty stomach.
9. Pineapple juice with turmeric
In this recipe, the diuretic properties and high fiber content of pineapple are combined with the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric. Its consumption improves digestive processes and is rich in vitamins C, E, and K, as well as niacin, sodium, and calcium, among other nutrients.
Ingredients
1 cup of pineapple.
1 piece of fresh turmeric or ½ teaspoon of ground.
1½ glasses of water (375 ml).
Method
- Peel and chop the pineapple.
- Blend with the water and add the turmeric.
You can consume this juice about three times a week. You might also like to add some black pepper. Its health benefits, when combined with turmeric, have been proven, as evidenced in this study.
10. Grapefruit, cucumber, apple, and lettuce juice
We already used grapefruit with pineapple in one of the previous recipes. Now, we’ll mix it with cucumber, apple, and lettuce. This juice has anti-inflammatory properties, high vitamin content from the cucumber, and fibers and antioxidants from the apple. The lettuce provides diuretic, flavonoid, and protective characteristics for the gastric mucosa.
Ingredients
- The juice of one grapefruit.
- A cup of chopped lettuce.
- 1 apple, chopped.
- 1 cucumber, chopped.
- ½ cup of water (125 ml).
Method
- Put the grapefruit juice and the rest of the ingredients in the blender. We suggest half a cup of water, but you may find you need more or less liquid.
- Blend and serve.
11. Melon and mint
Finally, we had to include a juice to help reduce bloating that contains melon. This fruit, like cucumber, gives you a lot of water. With the added mint, it’s a delightfully fresh drink, especially suitable for breakfast time.
Both ingredients provide vitamins A, B, and C, as well as fibers and minerals such as calcium and potassium.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of chopped melon.
- 1 bunch of mint (3 tablespoons).
- ½ cup of water (125 ml)
- The juice of 1 lemon (optional).
Method
- Put the chopped melon, mint, and water in the blender.
- Blend. Add the juice. You can also add ice.
Take note
If you frequently suffer stomach discomfort that’s becoming increasingly intense and preventing you from leading a normal life, make sure you visit your doctor as soon as possible. Once they give you a diagnosis, try to follow their recommendations and improve your life habits. Especially with regards to diet and hydration.
You may be advised to limit your intake of:
- Salt.
- Sugar.
- Cold cuts.
- Red meat.
- Refined flour.
- Foods that are high in saturated fats.
- Processed foods.
- Full-fat dairy products, like whole milk.
