How to Easily and Naturally Close Skin Pores
Having young and healthy-looking skin is one of the main beauty goals of women. Thus, when we find ourselves in front of the mirror and observe that our skin pores are dilated, we often hurry to cover our skin with makeup. But are there ways to easily close skin pores?
Having well-cared-for and toned skin can make you look much younger. To see your reflection in the mirror and to be surprised at what you see is a very gratifying experience. Small pores make your skin appear younger and smoother. There are a variety of home tips that you can follow in order to make your pores appear smaller. Some are suggestions for external skin care and others are to help improve your diet and hydration.
Although it does not exist a “miracle cure” to totally eliminate this problem, there are various ways to reduce and temporarily hide them.
The most common causes of open skin pores
One of the main causes is the way in which we treat and care for our skin. Skin that is damaged by the sun makes it more prone to open pores. This circumstance also entails a deterioration in the elasticity and in the collagen (that acts as a natural cleanser for the skin) and this can cause the pores to become enlarged.
Another factor that causes dilated pores is our own type of skin. Normal, dry skin is less prone to open pores. On the other hand, if we have fatty and oily skin, large pores tend to develop more easily.
Age is another factor that comes into play in this issue. As time passes the skin loses elasticity, which causes the pores to enlarge. The natural renewal process becomes less efficient and the skin becomes fragile and weak due to the years of exposure.
Solutions to easily close skin pores
If it’s too complicated to completely close skin pores, there are some methods that can help make the skin appear younger and more beautiful. It isn’t necessary to run to the pharmacy and spend a fortune in order to combat this problem. The most effective methods are these:
Drink enough water
Drink at least 2 liters (64 ounces) of water each day. Juices and teas do not count: try to drink two liters (64 ounces) of pure water. Your body needs to be hydrated in order to function correctly. Your skin needs to be hydrated in order to keep your pores from enlarging, which is how they request help!

Consume vitamin C
Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant. Consuming it will bring you many health benefits and especially for your skin. The simplest way to consume it is by eating citrus fruits. Eat your favorite but remember not to overdo it.
Another very effective natural remedy is an almond mask. Applying almond flour to your skin will help to refine the pores and diminish their appearance. If you can’t find this product in the supermarket, don’t worry: you can make your own flour!
- 1/3 cup of almonds
- Blend the almonds until they are in powder form.
- Place the almond flour in a bowl and add water, little by little, until it creates a paste.
- Rub the paste on your skin where there are open pores and let it work for half an hour.
- Wash with warm water.
You can repeat this process two times a week to see good results.

Remove your makeup every night to close skin pores
You should never sleep with makeup on. Makeup has oils and chemicals that can harm your skin on the inside.
When you return home from work or from a party, do not forget to remove your makeup. If you have run out of your cleanser, nature always provides what you need. You can use a cotton swab soaked in extra virgin olive oil to remove makeup. And then wash well in cold water and you’re done.
Wash your face at least twice a day. You can try the following recipe, which is quick and easy, in the morning and at night, after removing your makeup.
- 1 tablespoon of oats
- ½ tablespoon of natural yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well until it becomes a homogeneous dough or consistent paste.
- Soak a cotton swab in the mixture and apply it to your face to clean it.
- Wash with cold water.
Exfoliate your face regularly
With the hustle and bustle of the day and arriving home late, it may be difficult for you to prepare all of the recipes each day. You should prioritize and something that you must not miss is cleansing and exfoliating your skin. Follow this recipe once a week and you will close skin pores rapidly.
- Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Vigorously mix all the ingredients until the honey and sugar are completely dissolved in the lemon juice.
- Put a little on the tips of your fingers and massage it onto the skin of your face and neck, using small circular motions.
- Remove it with cold water.
Never expose your skin to the sun without protection. You should use sunscreen with an SPF factor of 40 or greater on your face. It’s best not to expose your skin to the sun during the middle of the day. But, if you must do so, the best option is to apply good sunscreen. The sun is very damaging to the skin and further, it can cause skin diseases.
Adopt healthy routines
Continue with your routine to close skin pores. Everything that you do for your skin, everything that you do to pamper your skin, is wonderful. If you have the habit of preparing a face mask on the weekends, keep doing it. If you do not follow a skincare routine because, in reality, you don’t have the time or desire, then at least drink enough water, remove your makeup each night and use sunscreen to see an improvement in a few weeks.
