Have you heard of the benefits of facial exercises to prevent sagging?

Sagging skin in the face is a problem that many women face. It is caused by lowered collagen and elastin production, two substances that are in charge of keeping your skin firm and young.

This results in skin tissue sagging, in addition to wrinkles and other premature signs of aging.

While it’s part of the biological aging process, some people experience it early due to environmental factors.

Luckily, it’s a problem that can be managed. There are many different products and things you can do to help minimize the effects.

One of them is this group of 6 toning exercises you can do anywhere.

Are you ready?

1. Forehead exercise

Facial Exercises

To keep those lines on your forehead away, tensing the skin by doing this exercise daily can help.

It tones the sagging tissue, and since it improves your circulation, it helps properly oxygenate your skin.

How do I do it?

  • Find a place where you can completely relax and place your palms on your forehead.
  • Then, stretch the skin, from the middle out to either side.
  • Relax 10 seconds and repeat 10 to 15 times.

2. Exercise for your eye area

When you work the skin around your eyes by using this toning exercise, you can prevent and reduce those bothersome crow’s feet.

It firms your skin and encourages proper distribution of collagen and elastin.

How do I do it?

  • Put your index fingers and thumbs together, as if you were making glasses.
  • Put them around your eyes, and without pressing too hard, tense the skin up and down.
  • Blink 20 times, keeping the tension, hold 2 or 3 seconds, and relax.

3. Facial exercises for your cheeks

Facial exercises for your cheeks

The cheek are where a loss of elasticity and firmness is most noticeable.

The skin sags easily and can show your years, even ahead of time.

However, your cheeks can be firmed up again by doing this exercise that works the muscles in the area.

How do I do it?

  • Inhale and puff out your cheeks.
  • When they’re tensed and inflated, tap them with your fingertips.
  • Hold for 10 seconds and then slowly exhale.
  • Then, purse your lips to the right side and then to the left.
  • Do 10 reps and then rest.

3. Eyelid exercise

Your eyelids are sensitive and tend to start sagging due to a loss of nutrients in the skin.

Consistent exercise and treatment is essential because the tissue here loses elasticity more easily than other areas.

How do I do it?

  • Place your index finger between the lower part of your eye and your nose.
  • Without opening your mouth, begin blinking quickly, trying to look up to the ceiling.
  • Blink for 20 to 30 seconds and do 3 reps.

5. Exercise for the area around your mouth

Exercise for the area around your mouth

The skin around your mouth is under constant attack by the sun, toxins, and certain foods.

That’s because the skin is thinner here and is often neglected in people’s skincare routine.

Fortunately, this toning exercise is very easy and can be done multiple times a day.

How do I do it?

  • Open your mouth as widely as possible, hold for 3 seconds, and close.
  • Do 10 reps, 2 or 3 times.
  • Then, in front of a mirror, make vowel sounds out loud, trying to move your mouth in an exaggerated fashion.
  • Do 10 reps and then relax.

6. Chin and neck exercise

If you exercise your chin and neck area every day, you’ll be preventing flabbiness, sagging, and inflammation.

How do I do it?

  • Stand or sit looking straight ahead with your back straight.
  • Lean your head back, looking at the ceiling, and move your mouth as if you were chewing.
  • Hold for a few seconds, return to your starting position, and do 10 to 15 reps.
