Smoothies are an easy and appealing way to take in a lot of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. They are also very satisfying and help you maintain healthy body weight, so they are recommended for all kinds of people.

We will provide you with some recipes that are geared especially towards helping strengthen hair, skin, and nails. If you drink these smoothies daily, you may notice many other benefits and possibly enhanced well-being.

The best time of day to drink them is in the morning, for breakfast. Certainly, you can drink it at home or take it in a bottle and drink it throughout the morning.

You can also drink them in the afternoon, but if you do so, then we recommend you do not drink more than one glass.

This is because they are very nutritious and during afternoon hours we don’t usually perform very much exercise. Try them all and then combine the ingredients to create new recipes. The whole family will like them.

Smoothie rich in silicon

Silicon forms part of the structure of our hair, skin, and nails. In addition, our body begins to lose silicon over the years, especially after 40 years of age.

And above all, in the case of women, the loss of estrogen at menopause can accelerate a deficiency of silicon. For this, it is important to drink this smoothie to help strengthen hair, nails, and especially our skin.

In this smoothie, we will make foods rich in silicon a priority, but it will also offer other beneficial vitamins and minerals as well:

Oats

This cereal is an important source of silicon (595 mg per 100 g). Further, it makes an excellent breakfast because it is very nutritious and filling.

Pears

One of the fruits most rich in silicon is pears. They also contribute sweetness to the smoothie.

Brewer’s yeast

This supplement, essential in any natural treatment for skin or hair, has a high content of silicon.

Amounts for two people or two servings:

  • 2 tablespoons of oats which have soaked for 2 hours (or a glass of oat milk)
  • 2 ripe pears

Keep in mind, if you use rolled oats, you should add 150 ml (5 ounces) of water.

Smoothie rich in biotin

Biotin, also called vitamin H or vitamin B7, is an essential nutrient for many body tissues and in strengthening hair, skin, and nails.

For this smoothie we will use the following ingredients:

  • Banana: This is one of the fruits with the highest content of biotin.
  • Strawberries: They contain biotin and they will give a delicious flavor to the smoothie.
  • Walnuts: This nut is a great option loaded with biotin and they also contain vitamin E and healthy fats.

Amounts for two people or two servings:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 6-8 ripe strawberries
  • 5 raw and shelled walnuts
  • 150 ml (5 ounces) of water

Smoothie rich in vitamin A

Vitamin A, found mainly in orange and green colored foods, helps to regenerate tissues and fight the dryness of hair and skin.

We recommend this smoothie especially for those with dry hair or skin and those who want to promote the growth and strengthen hair and nails.

  • Carrots: Carrots are rich in vitamin A and also add in nicely into the smoothie thanks to their sweetness.
  • Avocado: This fruit is one of the most complete for its nutritional value, and therefore should not be missing in our diet.
  • Milk: Milk is a good source of vitamin A if we digest it well. If not, we can replace it with yogurt or a vegetable drink.

Amounts for two people or two servings:

  • 2 peeled and grated carrots
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup of milk, yogurt, or a vegetable drink
