1. Vegan quinoa patties

Quinoa is rich in vegetable proteins, vitamins (B, C, and E), and essential minerals (iron and calcium). This recipe is easy to prepare and is a good choice to help you include more plant-based foods in your young children’s daily diet.


  • 200 g of quinoa
  • 100 g of carrots
  • 70 g of oat flakes
  • 30 ml of vegetable milk
  • 1 onion
  • 1 leek
  • Garlic
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Parsley, thyme, and oregano
  • Salt and pepper

Vegan quinoa patties are low in calories and contain nutrients that benefit your health. In addition, you can enjoy them at any time of the day.


  • To begin, wash and rinse the quinoa grains and boil them in a pot for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Strain the quinoa and set aside.
  • Peel the onion, garlic, and leek and cut them into julienne strips.
  • Put the vegetables in a blender or food processor and process until the ingredients are well-combined.
  • Although you can cook them before the previous step, it isn’t necessary to do so and it will take you longer.
  • Add the vegetable milk, cooked quinoa, oats, salt, and spices to taste and stir.
  • Then, peel, wash, and grate the carrots over the mixture and integrate everything.
  • Add the breadcrumbs until you get a consistent texture.
  • Set aside in the fridge for a couple of hours so that they won’t lose their consistency.
  • You can cook them in two ways: pan-fry them or bake them.
  • To pan fry them, pour plenty of virgin olive oil in a pan and cook the patties there when the oil is hot enough. Remove the excess oil with paper towels.
  • To bake, arrange the patties on a suitable baking tray and bake for ten minutes on each side at 350°F with top and bottom heat.
  • Now they’re ready to eat!

2. Vegan rice patties

These patties are made with basic ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Thus, this recipe can be a lifesaver when you don’t know what to cook! Also, it can help prevent you from consuming processed foods to address a lack of ideas and ingredients.


  • 80 g of brown rice
  • 100 g of carrots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • Cornmeal
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

The best thing about these patties is that you can prepare them with the ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.


  • First, peel and cut the onions, carrots, and garlic and add them to a pan with a little olive oil. Cook over low heat for about 15 minutes.
  • Add the previously peeled and chopped red pepper and cooked brown rice. Mix well to integrate all the flavors.
  • Take small portions of the dough and make patties. Then, dip them in cornmeal or breadcrumbs (whichever you prefer).
  • We recommend using a frying pan to cook them if you dipped them in cornmeal because they may not cook well in the oven.
  • Heat plenty of oil and add the patties one by one so the oil doesn’t lose temperature.
  • When you take them out of the pan, put them on a tray with paper towels to remove the excess oil.
  • Enjoy!

To accompany these vegan burger patties, you can opt for multi-grain or whole-wheat bread and add tomato, vegan mayonnaise, pesto sauce, mustard, vegan cheese, mushrooms, or any combination that you find tasty.
