If you have dry hair or split ends, don’t despair. Even though there are plenty of products you can buy in stores, some of these make the problem worse. However, there are some great natural ingredients to treat this problem too. These will help you to get beautiful, healthy looking hair.

Some of the causes of dry, dull hair

Dry hair can be due to several factors. Among them, the following stand out:
  • Genetic factors.
  • Damage caused by chemical products (perms, bleaches, coloring, etc.).
  • Using very strong shampoos that remove your hair’s natural oils. Or ones that have a high level of alkalinity.
  • A diet that lacks vitamins, proteins, minerals, and fatty acids.
  • Excessive use of heating elements like blow dryers and irons.
  • Getting too much sunlight.
  • Washing your hair too much.

Natural ingredients for fighting dry hair

Below, we are going to show you a list of natural solutions to the problem of dry hair. They all use things that you are likely to find in your fridge or pantry. They are also much cheaper and healthier than most beauty products that flood the stores. In addition, they’re more effective in the long run.

1. Unsalted butter or Chantilly cream

There is nothing like a good treatment with these dairy ingredients. They “feed” your hair’s keratin. This, as a result, moisturizes your hair and makes it shine.

What do you need to do?

  • Firstly, cover your hair with butter or Chantilly cream (without butter or additives)
  • Let it work for a half an hour.
  • After that, rinse it out several times, and wash with your normal shampoo.

Repeat this treatment 2 or 3 times per week.

2. Olive oil

Olive oil is an essential ingredient for lovers of the Mediterranean diet. It isn’t just delicious and healthy, but can also be used externally for fighting dry hair.

It has vitamin E and antioxidants that help to heal damaged hair. These ingredients also moisturize and give shine to your hair.

What do you need to do?

  • Firstly, put a little oil in a container and heat it a little in the microwave (it should be warm, but don’t burn yourself).
  • Spread it generously through your hair. Use caution.
  • Gently massage it in for ten minutes.
  • After that, cover your head with a hot towel.
  • Let it work for half of an hour.
  • Wash your hair with your normal shampoo.

This treatment can be repeated once per week. If you want, you can replace the olive oil with other oils (castor, coconut, almonds, jojoba, corn, etc…).

3. Egg whites

Mixing egg yolks.

This natural ingredient is great for restoring your hair’s lost strength. It’s also great for giving your hair texture and moisture.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons of warm water

What do you need to do?

  • Firstly, mix the two ingredients well until you get a smooth mix.
  • After that, spread the mixture into your hair.
  • Massage with your fingers and use light circular movements for 15 minutes.
  • Finally, wash your hair with cold water.

You can use this treatment once or twice a week.

4. Flavorless gelatin

If your hair has been excessively damaged by chemicals and needs rescue, then pay attention! You need to give it a high dose of protein once per month. The best way to do this is with flavorless gelatin.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of gelatin
  • 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar

What do you need to do?

  • Dissolve the gelatin in the water so that it makes a gel.
  • Then, add the teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it well.

How to use it

  • Firstly, wash your hair as normal. Then apply this treatment.
  • Let it work for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Finally, rinse your hair well.

5. Beer

Alcohol-free beer is a great hair conditioner. The protein that it has is great for repairing your damaged roots. It’s a great source of nutrients for your hair too. It’s important that it doesn’t have alcohol, because this would dry out your hair more.

What do you need to do?

  • Firstly, wash your hair as normal
  • After rinsing it, remove the excess water with a towel.
  • Then, rub a small amount of beer in your hair. Use the same amount as you would with hairspray.
  • Finally, let your hair dry. This way you’ll make sure that the smell of the beer will disappear.
