How to Get Rid of Blind Pimples
Blind pimples cause a lot of inflammation of the skin and, therefore, redness and discomfort. These are inflamed pores that, unlike normal pimples, are more difficult to remove.
The first thing to do when you have one or more blind pimples is not to squeeze the area; this action could be extremely counterproductive as it could make the pimples even more inflamed and the infection more serious.
Treatment for blind pimples
1. Wash your face
To start treating blind pimples it’s essential to first wash your face with water and a good antibacterial soap. This will remove all types of external dirt from the skin, such as sweat, excess oil and even certain bacteria.
2. Use steam
To help the pore to open and form a head on the pimple, the best thing to do is to use the steam from hot water. Simply put a pot of water on to boil, and then move your face towards it at a prudent distance, with a towel placed over your head to maximize the “sauna” effect.
You can also help the pore to open with the help of a vaporizer. Many aesthetic and dermatological centers offer, as part of their cleansing service, this device that releases hot steam on the face for a fixed amount of time.
Another way to help the formation of a pimple head is to apply a hot compress to the skin. It should be noted that you shouldn’t be in a rush to obtain good results.
It’s preferable to progressively apply short sessions of heat and steam rather than trying to accelerate the process and end up harming the skin.
3. Perform an exfoliation
Once the head of the pimple is well formed, don’t squeeze it to get the pus to come out. With the help of steam, it should come out on its own. Of course, cleaning out the residue should be done as soon as the pus appears, as this will prevent it from clogging up again.
Once the pore has been cleaned out, you can proceed with gentle exfoliation. This will help remove impurities and dead skin cells.
4. Apply baking soda
Did you know that baking soda is one of the most effective remedies to get rid of blind pimples? This compound absorbs excess oil and helps remove dirt from the skin.
All you have to do is make a paste, with equal parts of baking soda and water, and then spread it on the affected area. Once applied, leave it there for about 20 minutes and then remove it with warm water.
5. Apply an ice pack
Once the blind pimples have been removed, apply an ice pack to help fight inflammation. Remember to wrap the compress in a cloth or thin cloth to avoid burning the skin on contact.
It’s recommended to apply the ice pack for about 10 minutes, then rest for about 20 minutes before reapplying it to the blind pimples. In this way, you’ll avoid overexposing the area to cold.
Mask for blind pimples
The following mask is very effective to refresh, cleanse and moisturize the skin deeply. Containing tea tree oil, a powerful antibacterial, this mask helps to fight excess oil and, therefore, impurities. To prepare it you’ll need the following:
- ½ cucumber
- ¼ cup chopped coriander
- 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil
- Fresh water (sufficient quantity)
- Wash and slice half a cucumber.
- Then place the cucumber slices in the blender along with some fresh water. Also add 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil and coriander.
- Blend everything for a couple of minutes until you get a sort of smooth paste, without lumps.
- Pour the paste into a jar and put it in the refrigerator for about an hour.
- Apply it to the skin and let it act for 20 minutes.
- Rinse with antibacterial soap and cold water.
