5 Turmeric Masks for Acne Scars

Even though the ingredients in these very effective for reducing scars, if you notice any kind of allergic reaction, you should stop using it as it could have counterproductive effects

All these masks are cheap and easy to use. They’re a great option for scars because turmeric has antiseptic, antibacterial and clarifying properties.

1. Mint and turmeric masks

Mint has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and softening properties that perfectly match with the effects of turmeric.

For eliminating acne scars, we recommend that you use this mask daily.

Don’t worry about irritation, because both are gentle ingredients.


  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (3 g)
  • 2 teaspoons of mint tea (10 ml)


  • First, combine the two ingredients to form a paste.
  • Clean your face with a neutral soap and wash off with water.
  • Then, apply the mask onto the areas with acne scarring using a brush.
  • Leave on for 30 minutes and wash off with warm water.

If your skin feels dry afterwards, use some light-bodied cream.

2. Turmeric and sandalwood

Using products that contain antioxidants is essential for restoring damaged skin cells that have acne scarring. In addition to restoration, you can also use this mask to counteract discoloration.

The three ingredients in this mask have clarifying and antibacterial properties.


  • 1 teaspoon of:
    • sandalwood powder (3 g)
    • turmeric powder (3 g)
    • warm milk (5 ml)


  • Combine the three ingredients just before using.
  • Then, wash your face with warm water and gently dry.
  • Apply the mixture onto the areas with acne scars.
  • Leave on for 30 minutes and wash off with water (cold or warm).

You can use this mask every day or at least two times a week. The ingredients are very neutral so you won’t have any skin problems. However, do remember to use sunscreen everyday.

3. Honey and turmeric masks

Along with acne scars, do you find that your skin is dry in certain areas?
It’s normal that the passing of time and exposure to the environment affect skin and make it lose hydration.

When that happens, this mask will help you close your pores, get silky skin and reduce the appearance of scars. Honey also boasts disinfectant properties that clean pores thoroughly.


  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder (10 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of organic honey (25 g)


  • First, combine the two ingredients in a heat-resistant bowl.
  • Heat up the mixture in the microwave for one minute.
  • Then, wash your face and dry completely.
  • Apply the mask using a brush.
  • Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.

This mask is a wonder and the honey also exfoliates your skin. You can opt to put it on only on the areas where you have acne, but you can also multiply the measurements and use it on your entire face.

4. Turmeric and coconut oil mask

This option is perfect for hydrating, adding antioxidants and providing your skin with fatty acids.

Coconut oil restores the balance of oil in your skin while at the same time fighting off infections and inflammation.


  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (15 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder (10 g)


  • Combine the two ingredients. If the coconut oil is solid, just mix it around with a spoon. You can also microwave it for a minute.
  • Wash your face with neutral soap.
  • Then, apply mask and leave on for 15 minutes.
  • Wash off with plenty of water.

Because this mask contains oil, you won’t need to use a moisturizer after washing it off. What you should always remember to use, however, is sunscreen.

5. Turmeric, rose water and chickpea flour

The next mask on our list is a real treat for skin. Chickpea flour absorbs excess oil, cleans pores and prevents them from getting blocked again.

Rose water, on the other hand, is an astringent that hydrates and reduces coloration changes.


  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder (10 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of chickpea flour (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of rose water (30 ml)


  • In a small bowl, combine the turmeric and chickpea flour.
  • Add the rose water slowly, mixing as you add.
  • Apply the paste onto the areas where you want to eliminate acne scars.
  • Leave on for 15 minutes.
  • Wash off with cold water.

Use this last scar-eliminating turmeric mask at least two times a week.
