Don't overdo it with these masks if you want good results. We recommend using them once a week to get healthy, beautiful hair.

How much would you say that you care for your hair? Most people only remember to give their hair some extra care when we notice split ends or dandruff. But it could really benefit from consistent use of protein-rich hair masks, which help it stay strong and healthy.

Your hair is mainly made up of keratin, a protein with high levels of sulfur. There are lots of external factors that can gradually break down your hair strands:

  • Chemical treatments
  • Using hair straighteners and curlers
  • Dyes

Protein also plays a very important role when it comes to hair health. Its main job is to coat the capillary structure and help keep hair follicles strong. So, a diet low in protein often leads to weak hair and split ends.

You can also avoid these problems by using protein-rich hair masks. Here are 5:

1. Yogurt hair mask

The lactic acid in yogurt means our first hair mask will help clean your scalp and reduce frizz. It will also help you get extra smooth, moisturized hair.

  • 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt (135 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (32 g)

  • Start by adding both to a container and mix until thick and uniform.
  • Then, moisten your hair and apply the mask from the roots all the way to the ends.

  • A good rule to follow is to use them 5 times a month. This will give you good results without saturating your hair fibers.
  • It’s important to rinse well after using any of these masks.
  • To finish, wash your hair well with shampoo to eliminate any residue.
