Biotin

Biotin, previously known as vitamin H, may promote quicker hair growth and help strengthen hair. It’s a B-vitamin which is found in several cosmetic products, as well as certain foods.

This hydro-soluble vitamin is found in sardines, walnuts, almonds, brewer’s yeast, bananas, and whole grains. It’s also found in egg yolks. However, raw egg whites contain avidin, a protein which may hinder vitamin H absorption.

Antioxidants

Vitamins C and E, two antioxidant vitamins, are important for hair growth and normal development.

Without vitamin C, your hair could become dry and brittle. Vitamin C may also help block hair damage caused by free radicals to keep it healthy and to help heal it. Vitamin E helps increase scalp circulation, which may lead to a healthier scalp. These vitamins are found in citrus fruits, avocados, and leafy greens.

Olive oil may help your eyelashes grow

Olive oil may help eyelashes grow.

Rub a small amount of olive oil or castor oil on your eyelids, at the base of your eyelashes, every night. This may help grow longer and thicker.

You should start seeing signs of new hair growth after one or two months. This new hair growth will be healthier and stronger than previous growth.  Olive oil also acts as a conditioner to improve eyelash health.

Emu oil

Emu oil improves the way eyelashes look and may stimulate growth to make them longer and thicker.

  • Apply a small amount of this oil to your eyelashes to condition the hair and to stimulate new hair growth.

Petroleum jelly

This alternative treatment also works in the same way that olive and castor oil do.

  • Rub a bit of it on your eyes at the base of your eyelashes every night before going to bed.
  • You can wash it off after 15 minutes if you prefer.
  • You may notice hair growth after a few weeks.

Balanced diet

Eating a healthy diet rich in proteins and vitamins may help eyelashes to grow. Foods such as fish, eggs, beans, and yogurt are perfect options. Soy protein is also beneficial for eyelash growth.
