Orange juice has a lot of wonderful benefits. If you think about how many oranges you’re really having just with one glass of orange juice, it will make sense that it provides even more powerful therapeutic effects than just having an orange or two.

Properties of orange juice and its benefits

Digestive tract

Orange juice is proven to have lots of great properties for the stomach.  It has the ability to regulate its functions, preventing complications like:

  • Gastritis and gastroduodenal ulcers: orange juice is very effective for alleviating excessive heartburn.  Have it between meals, just the juice by itself, without any other foods.  This method is the most effective way to get the benefits from orange juice.
  • Liver: drinking orange juice between meals can be really good for your liver.  It has the ability to prevent poor digestion, swelling, and food fermentation.
  • Biliary failure: this juice helps produce more bile, making it very useful for people that suffer from biliary cirrhosis.
  • Diarrhea and constipation: it’s well known that the intestines suffer a lot when you have diarrhea or constipation. Drinking orange juice can be helpful with this too, because it has the ability to regulate and stabilize your intestinal function.
  • Indigestion: in this same way, it can help noticeably improve problems caused by bad digestion, as it has the ability to eliminate intestinal residue that could be producing these problems.

Urinary tract

Orange juice possesses fantastic alkalizing properties, which is very important for cleansing the blood.  It dissolves acids, preventing them from settling in the kidneys and causing kidney stones.

Metabolism

Uric acid is the main culprit when it comes to kidney stones. But orange juice can alkalize your body, which means it can balance out those issues, along with having a great effect on the metabolism.

Gout or arthritis

Uric acid deposits in the joints of people who have gout or arthritis, which causes a very intense pain.  Orange juice alkalizes and helps reduce levels of this acid, noticeably improving health conditions in these patients.

Orange juice is also good for diabetes patients, though not in a general sense, and it also has diuretic effects. , and also has diuretic effects.  Its vitamin C can particularly help regulate type II diabetes problems because this version of the condition can cause infections and sight problems, among other things. 

It’s also important to point out that orange juice can be great for people with diabetes if they need to get a quick blood sugar boost. But it’s not a good option for keeping up stable blood sugar levels because of its high sugar content.

The high vitamin C content in orange juice makes it very effective for quick recovery from some illnesses, like the flu. If you orange juice is a regular part of your diet before you notice the symptoms, it can help speed up recovery and keep you from having to deal with a lot of the symptoms.

Vitamin C can also be very helpful for people that suffer from respiratory diseases, allergies, or chronic cough.

Orange juice helps slow aging

The vitamin C in orange juice also has wonderful antioxidant properties.  This makes it very helpful in fighting the harmful effects of free radicals, which can cause the body to age prematurely.

Drinking a lot of orange juice could be useful for preventing, or slowing down a lot of the pains that affect our bodies over the years. Here are some more conditions it can help with:

  • Arteriosclerosis: orange juice is great for improving circulation. Its powerful antioxidant and anti-platelet properties give it the ability to help impede clots from forming in the arteries and prevent arteriosclerosis.
  • Hypertension: the fact that it helps with circulation means it can also help you achieve a healthier.
  • Deafness: vitamin C has been proven to be an excellent help for preventing deafness.
  • Vision loss: proper vitamin C consumption is a great for preventing loss of vision and associated conditions like cataracts.
  • Cancer: It’s not scientifically proven yet, but many studies have shown that this vitamin can actually help slow down cancer. Consuming large amounts of orange juice has also been shown to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
