1. Ginger, honey, and lemon to treat cough

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of water (750 ml)
  • 1 grated ginger root (15 g)
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (7.5 g)

Preparation

  • We will heat the water and add the grated ginger root.
  • When it is boiling, reduce the heat and add the juice of 1 lemon.
  • We will leave it for 2 more minutes, turn it off, and let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Finally, add 1 teaspoon of honey and drink.
  • We must drink this infusion 3 times a day, and avoid the cold of the night, as well as the consumption of cold foods (ice cream, slushies).

Ginger, cinnamon, and lemon

The properties of cinnamon are also well known as antiseptic, antibacterial, antiparasitic, and antibiotic. In this sense, it also applies in cases of respiratory diseases.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 1 grated ginger root (15 g)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (5 g)
  • The juice of 1 lemon

Preparation

  • First, we heat the water and add the ginger and cinnamon.
  • When it boils, turn off and let steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Finally pour it in a cup, add the lemon juice, and drink.
  • We will drink it 2 or 3 times a day and, as in the previous case, we will avoid the cold of the night or frozen foods at all times.

Ginger, eucalyptus, honey, and lemon to treat cough

Eucalyptus leaves have antiseptic, astringent and balsamic properties, which are particularly effective in cases of intermittent fevers, and respiratory disorders such as asthma, bronchitis, angina, and colds.

  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 1 grated ginger root (15 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of eucalyptus leaves (15 g)
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (7.5 g)

Preparation

  • We will heat the water together with the ginger and the eucalyptus leaves.
  • When it is boiling, lower the heat, add the juice of 1 lemon and let boil for 2 more minutes.
  • Finally turn off the heat, and let steep for 5 to 7 minutes, pour a cup and add honey.
  • Stir it and drink, taking into account the previous recommendations.

Ginger, chamomile, and cinnamon to treat cough

Cough Remedy

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties which will allow us to reduce the cough immediately.

  • 2 cups of water (500 ml)
  • 1 grated ginger root (15 g)
  • ½ a tablespoon of chamomile flowers (7 g)
  • 1 sprig of cinnamon, or cinnamon powder (5 g)

Preparation

  • Heat the water and add chamomile, ginger and cinnamon.
  • We wait until it boils, turn off and let steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Finally we pour it into a cup, or a glass and we drink it.
  • We must not forget to drink this infusion while we are presenting symptoms of cough.
