You expel countless waste products per day through your urine. These are the things your body doesn’t need found in our foods and drinks. However, urine and health diagnoses are more related than you might think.

The urine can serve to warn you of certain health problems you might have. You might find a disagreeable change in hue or some other characteristic which can alert you to trouble.

Many of us aren’t aware of the ways urine and health are related. We might ignore the changes in our urine that may be indicating possible illnesses. It’s extremely important to know what can be happening in rour body and take note of the warning signs.
One of the best ways to do this is to simply pay attention to any changes in your urine. Below we want to share with you 8 types of urine that may be indicating something about the state of your health.

Health and urine with a light yellow color

The urine of a healthy person is a light yellow color, almost transparent. This typical color of urine is due to a pigment called urobilin. Your urine normally transports urobilin which is diluted in water. This becomes an almost transparent yellow color, indicating that you are properly hydrated. If the yellow color is dark or intense, it means that you may be dehydrated.

If the urine color is clear and the person feels the urge to urinate frequently, it might be that their body is over-hydrated. This can happen when a person consumes water excessively.

On the other hand, if the color is clear and there’s an urge to urinate frequently but the person has not ingested a lot of liquid, then it could indicate that the person may have diabetes.

Cloudy urine

Urine that is cloudy can indicate that it contains phosphates, which could be a by-product of kidney stones. If the urine continues to be cloudy for many days, it’s a common sign of an urinary tract infection.

In this case, your health and urine may indicate that you need to go to your doctor. Generally, cloudy urine is usually accompanied by a strong odor and frequent visits to the bathroom.

For men, cloudy or dirty urine may be due to semen that has remained in the urinary tract. In this case, their health and urine might actually be OK.

Health and urine that’s bluish green

In general this is due to something that you previously ate, especially if said food was blue or green. For example, asparagus can cause the urine to come out green or blue.

On the other hand, a bluish or greenish tint could also indicate that you’re in the process of changing vitamins or medicines. If neither of these is the case, consult a doctor.

Orange urine

The consumption of foods such as cloudberries (orange blackberries), beets, carrots, or any other orange food can give the urine an orange color. Dehydration or even some medicines can give health and urine of this color medical significance. If the urine is a dark-orange color, almost brown, it could indicate that you have bile in the urine. If you do, then the best thing for you to do would be to consult with a doctor.

In these cases, you almost never see a change in urine color, but you might sometimes get a very dark tone. You might find this alarming. If the urine is too foamy, it may indicate an excess of protein in your body.

Urine with a strong odor

Urine doesn’t smell too great to begin with, but we all know the difference between a normal urine smell and one that’s too strong. A foul odor in the urine can be the result of consuming coffee or asparagus. If this isn’t the case with you but your urine still has a strong odor, it may be wise to see your doctor.

Pink or red urine

Some foods that are naturally red can cause changes to the color of your urine. They might make give it a pink or red tint. Cranberries, rhubarb or another type of red food can cause such a change.

However, this color can also be due to the consumption of certain medicines, blood in the urine, infections, or even just heavy exercise. If the urine doesn’t return to its normal color within 24 hours, you should consult your doctor.

In the most extreme cases, pink or red in the urine can be an indicator of kidney cancer, an enlarged prostrate, or bladder stones.
