That’s why limiting the intake of carbohydrates is common in many weight-loss diets. Some people avoid bread because bread made with white flour usually has a high carbohydrate content. Furthermore, it’s a food that many people eat daily – sometimes even multiple times a day.
But are there other options?
Be that as it may, there are bread alternatives that are made from grains and are not only tasty but also nutritious. Bread can be prepared from foods other than traditional flours. A popular example is keto bread, which is commonly eaten by people who follow the ketogenic diet.

A low-carb bread recipe
- 2 eggs (180 g)
- 1 tablespoon of yeast (10 g)
- Various types of seeds (chia, sunflower, etc.)
- 6 tablespoons of almond flour (60 g)
- First, beat the eggs well.
- Then, in the same bowl, add the almond flour, yeast, and seeds.
- Next, spread the dough into several microwave-safe containers. There should be a thin layer in each container.
- Now, simply put the container in the microwave for about 2 minutes (may vary slightly depending on the power of your microwave).

Another recipe for low-carb bread
- Salt to taste
- 3 egg whites (90 g)
- 2 tablespoons of yeast (20 g)
- 1 glass of hot water (250 ml)
- 1 and a half cups of almonds (150 g)
- 40 grams of psyllium (40 g)
- First, if the almonds aren’t already crushed, crush them very well until they become a fine powder.
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (325 to 350 °F).
- Then, mix the almonds, psyllium, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Mix everything very well.
- Next, gradually add the vinegar and egg whites and continue mixing.
- Then, add the hot water little by little.
- Now, knead the dough well. Once the dough is well kneaded, cut the dough into small pieces (about six). Keep in mind that the dough will rise, so don’t make them too thick.
- Finally, put the dough in the oven, and bake for about 50 minutes. At this point, if you want to add even more flavor, you can sprinkle some seeds on top.
