Sometimes you might try to clean your entire house and still find that it doesn’t smell as good as you would like. If this has happened to you, don’t worry. Today we’ll tell you about some tips that will help you ensure your home smells fresh.

1-Try odor neutralizers

Some very interesting odor neutralizers are available today. One example is baking soda, which has an incredible capacity to absorb all kinds of smells.

Just place a small container with a little baking soda and a few drops of lemon juice in various corners of your home. Of course, you need to be careful that they stay out of the reach of children.

Charcoal is another good option. It’s very effective when it comes to neutralizing strong smells and in places where there’s a lot of humidity. To be effective, be sure to replace it with fresh charcoal every so often.

2-Water and white vinegar

To get rid of any cooking odors, you should mix equal parts of water and white vinegar in a bowl.

Next, add some aromatic herbs or citrus peels. Leave this in the kitchen so that it absorbs odors while you’re cooking. This is also a great remedy for tobacco smoke and you can use it in any room.

3-Make your home smell fresh

You should try using a homemade air freshener. All you need to do is add 15 drops of lavender or lemon oil to a spray bottle filled with water, and shake to mix the ingredients well.

You can use this preparation to freshen up any corner of your house. Homemade air fresheners are a great option for placing near windows, because the same air current will circulate them and improve the smell.

4-Flowers, a natural choice

Gardenias, geraniums, and orchids can all be good options if you’re trying to make your home smell better. Jasmine flowers are also very nice smelling. Place them in a container with water to release their strong scent.

5-Try at-home air purifiers

An air purifier is one of the best options for eliminating all kinds of odors and pollutants, such as viruses and bacteria. They are particularly useful if you have pets because they’ll help keep your home smelling clean.

You can try natural vanilla flavors. Just add a few drops of vanilla to a cotton ball near the filter once every six hours.

  • A homemade pine air freshener is another option. To do this, boil three pine branches, two bay leaves, and one nutmeg seed. To preserve the aroma longer, do this over low heat.
  • Orange air freshener: to make an orange air freshener, cut an orange in half, hollow it out, and fill it with coarse salt. Place this in a spill-proof container and you’ll have an amazing homemade air freshener.
  • Rosemary air freshener: To make this type of air freshener, you’ll need to boil some rosemary leaves and some lemon slices for one hour. Then add a few drops of vanilla extract to have fresh smelling surroundings for a few days.
  • Dried flowers air freshener: to make this air freshener, chop up some rose petals, bay leaves, eucalyptus, thyme, and sage. Then you’ll need to mix everything well and add them to bags. If you find that they are losing their smell, just add a few drops of alcohol.

6-Don’t forget to ventilate your home

One of the keys you shouldn’t forget is ventilation. Try to air out your home every morning. This is an important and simple step to take.

All you need to do is 10 minutes to freshen up the air and eliminate any bad smells that are left inside.

Be sure that you have a nice current of air flowing to have the desired effect.
