1. Get More Vitamin C
Some physicians recommend the consumption of vitamin C to control reactions such as hives due to the high levels of histamine in it.
To do so, increase your consumption of citrus fruits. Oranges and citrus fruits have a high content of absorbable vitamin C.
In addition, there are many other fruits that contain high amounts of vitamin C, such as strawberries, guava, papaya and kiwi.

2. Take A Basil Bath
Basil is one of the most commonly used spices in people’s kitchens. Furthermore, oriental medicine ensures that basil baths are an excellent antidote for hives.
Basil helps because it helps them disappear in a very short time. Not only that, but it also makes your skin feel fresh.
For this remedy you’ll need:
- 4 tbsp of basil leaves
- 1 tbsp dried basil leaves, powdered
- 1 pint of water
- Add the basil powder into the water.
- Mix well.
- Transfer it to a pot and place it over medium heat. When it starts to boil, add the basil leaves.
- Stir to help the leaves release their components. Then, remove it from heat and let it cool down.
- Add this mixture to your bath water and soak in it while paying special attention to submerge the affected areas.
3. Use Apple Cider Vinegar
You probably know about apple cider vinegar as a salad dressing. However, what you may not know is that this substance is also an antihistamine, so it can soothe hives and their symptoms.
- To do this you just have to apply it as a compress -a clean cloth soaked in it- directly in the affected area.
- Then, leave it there for at least 15 minutes. If the area is large and highly irritated, then you might want to apply the vinegar (mixed with a bit of water) directly on the skin.
