Individuals often have to use gelatin to deal with joint pain as they generally have difficulties going on with their daily activities. In fact, they often deal with a lack of motion, stiffness, or general discomfort.

Joint pain could be caused by a decrease in collagen levels. Collagen is a protein that builds up the base in cartilage tissue, bones, and tendons, and is essential for your overall joint health. Fortunately, there’s a very effective remedy to stop wear and tear and for soothing pain.

Gelatin is often recommended by health professionals and we’d like to share its main benefits with you together with some remedies for various ailments.

The benefits of using gelatin for joint pain

Gelatin is a very common and inexpensive food you can find at the supermarket. People often use it for cooking. It’s also used in health and beauty treatments.

From a nutritional perspective, it’s a significant source of proteins, which come from the processing of animal collagen. Because of this, thousands of people have incorporated it into their diets for joint health. It contains important nutrients that restore and protect connective tissue.

Estimates indicate it contains 90% of proteins from the skin and animal bone system, in addition to 2% of mineral salts and the rest is water.

Many people believe that these compounds aid various therapeutic purposes, especially because they confer them the ability to synthesize collagen in the body.

Gelatin is recommended for treating conditions affecting the connective tissues in the body, like osteoarthritis. Its nutrients help reduce inflammation and repair worn cartilage.

This substance is also cholesterol and fat-free. In addition, it contains substances that improve the digestion of heavy foods, which soothes abdominal inflammation and lessens gases.

Some people believe it provides elasticity and strength to the tendons and ligaments to prevent injuries when used as a treatment.

However, there’s insufficient scientific evidence to support these assumptions, as we’ll show you below.

Gelatin remedies for soothing joint pain

People often say that you can maintain proper joint health by eating about 10 grams of gelatin per day. You can obtain it through desserts, smoothies, and other recipes.

However, institutions such as the Marina Baixa Hospital in Alicante suggest we exercise caution in this study. Although gelatin does have some health properties, the studies used received funding by entities that market supplements of this type. So there’s no scientific evidence to determine their lack of danger when ingested daily. Also, there’s none to support any type of relationship between its consumption and the relief of osteoarthritis.

Due to the lack of consistent information, we recommend consulting a specialized doctor. However, in order to enhance its therapeutic power, here are some remedies designed exclusively to soothe joint pain. What have you got to lose!
