Modern life can easily lead people to feel overwhelmed, tense, and nervous. Has this ever happened to you? Do you need to soothe your nerves and release some pressure? If so, you can give yourself a few minutes to prepare a rich and aromatic drink that’ll help you to put aside all the stress and focus solely on yourself.

Here are some natural remedies for times like these. Take note!

1. Linden tea

Linden tree tea.

Linden has anxiolytic properties, so its infusion is one of the most recommended remedies for people suffering from anxiety and stress. It’s easily prepared in just a few minutes and it isn’t necessary to add additional ingredients (unless you wish to do so).

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. of linden leaves
  • 1 c. of water

Instructions

  • Firstly, bring the water to a boil and then add the linden leaves
  • Then, let stand for 10 minutes at room temperature and drink
  • Optionally, you can add a few drops of lemon juice or a slice of fruit if you like

2. Valerian tisanes are great to soothe your nerves

Valerian has relaxing and anxiolytic properties, so it’s also recommended for relaxing and, in particular, in case of anxiety, stress, and even when there are sleeping problems or insomnia.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. of valerian
  • 1 c. of water

Instructions

  • Firstly, put the valerian in a cup of boiling water and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Then, strain the infusion and sip
  • Finally, drink 2 or 3 cups a day
  • Additionally, you can add a little lemon juice to soften the flavor and aroma of the valerian

3. Lettuce infusion

According to popular wisdom, a lettuce leaf drink is useful for relaxing your nerves, soothing the body, and thus calming the mind and promoting a good night’s sleep.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. of water
  • 6 fresh lettuce leaves
  • Optional: mint leaves

Instructions

  • Firstly, put the fresh lettuce leaves in a pot with a liter of water and cook them on low heat for 5 minutes
  • Then, after the 5 minutes, remove from heat
  • Finally, wait until the mixture reaches a tolerable temperature and drink
  • However, as it can have a diuretic effect, avoid consuming it in large quantities at night

4. Marjoram can soothe your nerves

Like lemon balm and other plants, marjoram has sedative properties. Therefore, it’s another of the natural remedies proposed to relax your nerves and calm your mind.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. of fresh marjoram
  • 1 c. of water

Instructions

  • Firstly, add the fresh marjoram to a cup of boiling water and let stand for 15 minutes
  • Finally, drink it slowly

5. Chamomile tisane

A chamomile tisane can soothe your nerves.

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory, sedative, and analgesic properties, which is why its infusion is another of the natural remedies usually recommended to relax your nerves.

It’s very easy to prepare in just a few minutes and can be enjoyed even with a touch of honey, cinnamon, and lemon or orange juice.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. of chamomile
  • 1 c. of water

Instructions

  • Firstly, put the tablespoon of green tea in a cup of boiling water and let stand for a few minutes.
  • Drink it when it reaches a tolerable temperature.

6. Lavender to soothe your nerves

Because of its sedative properties, lavender is another natural remedy for relaxing your nerves. You can enjoy it as lemonade, or add chamomile, your choice!

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. of water
  • 2 tbsp. of dried lavender
  • Optional: lemon juice, chamomile

Instructions

  • Firstly, boil the water and add the dried lavender.
  • Then, let stand for 10 to 15 minutes and add the lemon juice if desired.
  • You can also prepare it with a little bit of chamomile.
