Dry skin: how to get rid of it

There are several factors that cause dry skin. This condition may be the result of a genetic predisposition, the environment or climate, excessively washing or using certain products.

If you have this problem, pay attention to the following tips:

1. Moisturize daily

In stores, you can buy creams that cater to your condition which you must apply every day or, if possible, even several times a day.

It doesn’t help to put on a thick layer of moisturizer today and then forget about it until next week. It’s essential to use it daily, at least in the morning and at night.

To help you remember, leave the product on your bedside table or in the bathroom.

Also, to increase the amount of hydration your skin receives, it’s good to apply the product after washing your face or bathing (that is, when it’s still wet).

Don’t forget that it’s always better to use soft strokes to apply the product to avoid irritating the area.

2. Wash your face with warm water

You should wash your face with warm water when you get back home from work or exercise, when you wake up in the morning, and when you go to bed .

This will help your pores to relax, which will help your skin keep hydrated. Washing the area with hot water isn’t good because it irritates the skin and removes hydration.

This also applies to showering. If you use water at a high temperature (for example, in the winter) we advise that you wash your face with cold water.

3. Gently exfoliate your face

It’s a mistake to believe that people with dry skin don’t need to exfoliate. After all, this technique is used to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, so it’s effective on any skin type.

You should keep in mind that many products that are freely marketed may be worse for your condition.

Therefore, in addition to making sure that the product is suitable for your skin, you should rub it very gently.

When you finish, don’t forget to moisturize your skin.

4. Dry your skin slowly

After you finish showering or washing your face, it’s best for your skin to dry on its own. If you don’t like this idea very much, then you must be careful with the towel that you use.

  • First, it must be made of cotton or any other soft material.
  • Secondly, you shouldn’t rub the towel on your skin, but instead tap it softly for 20 seconds at most.
  • Another option is to use a soft cloth and add a little pressure when drying your skin.
