What is Jin Shin Jytsu therapy?
Jin Shin Jytsu suggests that the human body has three main energy channels:
- The central channel flows in a large oval starting at the face, falling toward the chest, then the abdomen, the hips, and finally moving up the spinal column to the head.
- The other two channels are known as supervisory channels and begin within the knees.
- The left supervisory channel is responsible for controlling all the functions on that side of the body, with a link to the past, logic, and your genetics.
- The right channel controls the functions on that side and has to do with the present, intuition, and rebirth.
- Finally, there are diagonal flows that harmonize the supervisory channels and organize your energy system.
The main objective of this method is to balance your physical and emotional states to achieve peace within yourself and with the universe.

How does this alternative therapy work?
Jin Shin Jytsu therapy focuses on channeling all the energy that is distributed throughout the body.
It holds that each location on your hand has a special bond with one or more of your bodily organs, as well as your emotions.
That means that through this technique you can improve your physical health and emotional state.
How is it performed?
As we said above, each part of your hand represents a particular organ. In order to perform this therapy, wrap a finger carefully around the area you want to heal.
First you need to cross your arms and place your hands under your arms with your thumbs facing forward.
Once you’re in this position, exhale deeply and feel it flow from the base of your skull to your body, down to the thumbs.
Then repeat the same action but sense the air descending through your spine.
After you perform this exercise, massage each finger for three minutes. Massage the left hand in the morning and the right one at night.
Before massaging each finger, however, consider what you’re doing and the order in which it should be done.
The thumb represents your arms and stomach. When both are in pain you may experience emotions like depression and anxiety.
The symptoms may include nervousness, abdominal pain, and headaches.
The index finger
This finger is linked to your kidneys and bladder, as well as emotions like confusion and fear. Signs with which it manifests include digestive disorders, back pain, and tooth pain.
The middle finger
Your middle finger is associated with the liver and anger. You may find that you have migraines, vision problems, or fatigue.

The ring finger
Your colon and lungs are related to this finger, as are feelings of depression and pessimism.
You may experience symptoms of indigestion, asthma, and difficulty breathing.
The pinky finger
The pinky is related to the health of your heart and small intestine. It also represents the attitude of pretending to be something that you are not.
