  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil (45 ml)
  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil (100 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons of grated beeswax (60 g)
  • 10 drops of pine oil
  • 10 drops of mint oil (optional)

Preparation

  1. To start, pour the olive oil and the coconut oil into a heat-resistant container
  2. Then, heat in a water bath or in the microwave
  3. When the oils combine, add the beeswax and the essential oils
  4. Wait a few minutes, until the ingredients mix completely
  5. Once you have a homogeneous mixture, remove it from the fire
  6. Next, pour the mixture into a glass container and let it solidify
  7. Lastly, cover it and store it in a dark, cool place

To use it

  • Scoop the ointment with the tip of your finger and rub it on the mentioned areas
  • Massage the area for a few minutes, until it’s completely absorbed
  • If possible, cover it completely using blankets and socks
  • Repeat these steps 3 days in a row or until you feel better

Warnings about the use of pine oil

Pine oil, like other essential oils, is extremely potent. Due to this, you should never ingest it. You also shouldn’t use it concentrated, without diluting it first. In its pure state it can irritate your skin, eyes, and respiratory tract.

Carrier oils (coconut, avocado, olive, almond, and other oils) are the best accompaniment to dilute this type of oil. Given that it can cause allergic reactions, you should always do a sensitivity test on your skin before using it topically.

The test consists of rubbing a small amount of the treatment on your forearm or another region of skin. If you don’t have any negative reaction after a few hours of it on your skin, then it’s safe to use.
