It’s important to make good use of our time. After all, we’re always looking to squeeze all the juice out of the day. But between one task and another, we end up putting off things we consider less important. Therefore, it’s common for people not to find time to exercise.

With the excuse of work, household tasks, or school, we forget the importance of taking care of our bodies. And it goes beyond physical appearance to emotional and psychological wellbeing and health as well. You don’t have to go to the gym, since home routine help can help you feel and look better just as well.

You may have the intention to exercise, but that’s not enough. There’s no point in hiding behind a lack of time to get in shape. Rather, you need to motivate yourself and make one or two sacrifices, even if you’re very busy.

Lack of exercise leads to a sedentary lifestyle, which predisposes us to chronic diseases such as obesity, muscular atrophy, stress, digestive disorders, and osteoporosis.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in the Eurozone, there are at least 600,000 premature deaths per year caused by physical inactivity. Worldwide, that figure is estimated at 1.9 million. Along the same lines, those who don’t practice any athletic activity are more likely to die prematurely.

The aim isn’t to scare you with these numbers, but rather encourage people to put aside arguments such as the following:

  • There aren’t enough hours in the day
  • I don’t have money to pay for a gym
  • Work consumes me
  • School doesn’t leave me with enough time
  • Exercise makes me hungry and I don’t want to gain weight

We know that sometimes schedules get complicated and 24 hours seem insufficient. However, we often have no problem finding “gaps” to check social networks, watch a movie, or take a nap. All of this comes before exercise.

However, it’s a matter of reevaluating your schedule and managing priorities, including a routine, however simple it is.

Exercising and eating right provides more energy, relieves stress, and leads to a healthy weight. In general, when we’re active, we improve our quality of life. Those who practice sports show self-control and are capable of making good decisions, as they develop great cognitive capacity.

Also, the brain secretes endorphins during the routine and after, which produces emotional well-being and happiness, minimizing the symptoms of depression and anxiety. According to research, a relationship between relaxation and physical exercise has been confirmed.

Contrary to what many people think, exercising helps the body work efficiently. You gain energy to get through the rest of the day. So don’t look for excuses; make the most of your time by applying the following recommendations:

1. Get organized

Check what you spend your time on. From there, redefine priorities. It helps to write a list of your activities and eliminate those that aren’t as important.

2. Join a team to exercise

You’re not alone! Surely a friend is also looking for time to exercise. Support on another and it’ll be more bearable and fun. Start with a light workout and gradually increase the intensity, as long as your body allows it.

3. Find a convenient place

A gym or park near your workplace or university is a great place to work out. Setting up space at home also works, especially if you decide to train very early in the morning or before bedtime. One of its advantages is that you can follow routines online, verified by qualified instructors.

4. Choose activities that you enjoy

Squats, sit-ups, or push-ups aren’t mandatory to stay in shape. Other activities can help, such as dancing, biking, swimming, or yoga. The key is to select one that you enjoy and invest a little bit of your day in it.

5. Don’t see it as an expense

We already mentioned that you can exercise outdoors, in a park, or at home. You don’t need to pay for gym sessions, so money shouldn’t be an excuse.

Don’t use the cost of sports equipment or clothing as an excuse, either. Light shoes and comfortable clothes are all you need.

Finding time for exercise is an all-around win

Lack of time for exercise is associated with psychological barriers such as fear of getting hurt, failure, or ridicule. Hence, we replace sport with less compromising alternatives. That is, we prefer to sleep, watch movies, or indulge in social networks.

With a little creativity and, above all, organization, through exercise you’ll have good physical and mental health. Remember that there are multiple benefits, but the main one is that you’ll gain a better lifestyle.
