How To Exfoliate Your Skin and Keep it Radiant

  • Use sunscreen: it is essential that you protect your skin every day from ultraviolet rays, therefore it is recommended to apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30, although there are also others with higher protection.
  • Balanced diet: diet has a lot to do with health in general and, of course, with the health of the skin. It is important to consume fresh vegetables, fruits, foods rich in vitamins and minerals, because this way your skin becomes firm and because it helps the cell regeneration process.
  • Sleep: this is the best medicine for a healthy-looking and radiant skin. Sleep is essential because during sleep, the cell activation is at its maximum and its activity increases up to three times more than during the day. This way cells repair is taking place, in order to repair those that are deteriorated. It is recommended to sleep for at least 8 hours a day.
  • Cleaning: every day our skin is exposed to external contaminants, wind, dust and cosmetics that can clog pores and limit the ability of skin regeneration, for this reason it is important to clean it daily, preferably at bedtime, so that makeup and all those impurities that can affect the health of the skin and cause side effects are eliminated.
  • Hydration: skin hydration is essential for a smooth and radiant look. For this, the market offers many special creams and products that also provide other benefits. Alternatively, we can also moisturize the skin with homemade masks and creams based on natural products.
  • Healthy Habits: having a good exercise routine and avoiding bad habits like alcohol, drugs, smoking, among others, is vital to the health of our skin. Bad habits can cause irritation, allergies, Ph imbalance, and dryness, among others.
  • Exfoliation: There are many ways to exfoliate your skin and cleanse it of impurities. Natural exfoliants for revitalizing the skin

Banana and sugar


This exfoliant is ideal for oily skin, as it contains no oil.

You will need:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar.
  • A bowl

What do you need to do?

In the bowl you have to blend the two ingredients well and create a mix.  Then apply it onto your skin when you are in the shower. If you want to exfoliate the skin on your face in particular, there is no need to mix it with sugar.

Coarse sugar and oil

Effects of refined sugar

Because of its content of oil this exfoliant is recommended for dry and sensitive skin.

You will need:

  • 4 tablespoons coarse brown sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 20 drops of essential oil to your taste.

What do you need to do?

In a clean bowl, mix all the ingredients and then apply on your skin, massage in small circular motions and then remove the exfoliant using warm water.

Coconut and brown sugar

Coconut oil

This exoliant is ideal for dry and dull skin. It makes it look radiant and restores vitality.

You will need

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar

What do you need to do?

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients and then apply on the skin, massaging it gently and in small circular motions. Once you finish, you have to remove it using warm water. What remains can be put in a glass jar and stored at room temperature.
