It’s essential to use some type of fat to sauté each of the ingredients. In restaurants, they often use lard to give it more flavor. However, if you want to make a healthier preparation, it’s better to use olive oil or vegetable oil.

You should heat the wok or pan to the maximum, put in the fat or oil and sauté each ingredient separately for a maximum of 3 to 4 minutes. You should not cook the vegetables too much so they’re not too soft.

Chinese Rice with Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 scrambled eggs (50 g)
  • 1 handful of bean sprouts (30 g)
  • Fresh ginger finely chopped
  • 2 or 3 finely chopped onions (60 g)
  • 1 stalk of finely chopped celery (20 g)
  • A green pepper in small dice (30 g)
  • 1 cup of fresh shrimp without skin (150 g)
  • 2 cups of previously cooked white rice (400 g)
  • 1/2 cup of frozen vegetables: carrots, corn and peas
  • Vegetable oil, salt, pepper, soy sauce (to taste)

Elaboration

  1. In a very hot wok, put a little oil. Saute the ginger briefly and set aside.
  2. Saute the shrimp for two minutes (or until it changes color) and set aside.
  3. Saute all the vegetables for 4 minutes.
  4. Add the soy sauce , the ginger and the rice. Stir.
  5. Add the shrimp and the scrambled eggs.
  6. Stir constantly until everything is mixed well and serve.
