Can Time Heal All?

· July 21, 2016
While the phrase “time heals all” is a common one, the truth is that it needs your help. You have to do your part in order to heal and smile again

How many times have you said that time heals all wounds? Whenever you go through a breakup or any other experience that literally breaks you apart, it’s the start of a very difficult period that you have to somehow overcome.

But do you do this in the best way? Do you allow the hands of “fate” to cure you of all that pain? It’s important to let time heal, but it won’t cure a thing if you don’t work for it.

The responsibility for healing is your own, not time’s.

Pain needs its own time

It would be unreasonable to believe that you can solve a problem or heal a wound within a given, short timeframe. Life isn’t like that. In addition, you can’t predict how long that period of “healing” will even take.

Given all this, there is one thing that you must never do, which is living in the past and leaving your wound open forever. This only allows you to continue to suffer, so the first thing you need to do is to close the wound, and then give it time to heal.

There will be plenty of people around you who suggest you find a way to distract yourself, try new things, go out with your friends…maybe those are positive things, but you shouldn’t use them as solutions to your problems.

A distraction will be but a temporary bandage, and sooner or later the pain will return again.

Give your pain some time. Maybe a month, maybe more than a month, and maybe even a year will be needed. Everything depends on the source of the pain.

But don’t rush yourself. Everything will be fine, and when you heal you’ll know it. You’ll be able to look at that scar without feeling anything anymore.

Don’t cross your arms: take control

Although time is necessary, there’s one thing you must never do: sit back and expect it to take care of everything. There are many people who have left the solution to their problems to “fate,” or assumed that only time would heal their wounds.

Life doesn’t work that way. You have to take control of your life and make an effort to help in the healing process. Time alone does not have the power to be fully responsible for what happens to you. You must also do your part.

How can you take control? What should you do? We want to give you some important tips to help you regain control of your life.

Let go of the past

The past is there to remind you of experiences that you’ve learned from and lived through, but it is still behind you.

Now is the time to stop living in your past. You need to let it go and move on. Focus on the present because now is what matters.

Seek help

You are strong, no doubt, but sometimes you need help. Lean on the people you can trust, who help you move forward and see life with a new perspective.

Never be ashamed to ask for help because there are plenty of people out there willing to lend you a hand.

Be optimistic

You have to open your mind and see life with new optimism. You’ve gone through a very hard period, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.

Everything will be overcome sooner or later, so put a smile on your face and keep going! Life is beautiful, so live it!

4 dandelionForgive others as well as yourself

There’s one thing that’s more difficult than forgiving others, and that is to forgive yourself. Whether you agree or not, it’s an essential part of overcoming any difficulty. Only then can you leave your past behind and move on.

Don’t live with bitterness – your wound will remain open forever.

Have you ever left something in the hands of time when the responsibility was really yours? Pain is something that you must learn to not just let time heal on its own. Time will help you, it’s true, but it isn’t a cure.

Be brave and take control. Life is beautiful, although right now you may not see that. Live and be happy, because you deserve it.
