Potatoes are one of the most regularly eaten foods. There are many different ways to prepare them and their nutritional make-up favors the body considerably. So if you love roasted potatoes, and want to vary your repertoire of roasted potato recipes a little, this is your opportunity to look and try other options.

Baked delights: 5 roasted potato recipes

1. Potatoes with peas and cheddar cheese

  • Potatoes (200 g)
  • ½ can of peas (63 g)
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese (300 g)
  • Vegetable oil (preferably olive)
  • Condiments: salt, parsley
  • Optional: 1 small onion (30 g)

  1. Peel and wash the potatoes. Next, cut them into sticks.
  2. Bake the potato sticks at 180ºC for about 25 or 30 minutes, approximately.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat, barely greased with a little olive oil.
  4. Then, cut the onion into small pieces (as much as possible). Once it is ready, put it in the pan for a few minutes until golden brown. Stir constantly so that it does not burn. When it is ready, turn off the flame and set off to the side.
  5. Open the can of peas and use half of them. Drain the liquid and set aside in a bowl.
  6. Chop the cheddar cheese into small pieces and out it in the microwave (at low intensity) for 15 seconds. You can also grate the cheese, if that is easier. If the 15 seconds are not enough, put it back in for another 10 seconds (try not to overdo it so you don’t completely remove the moisture from the cheese).
  7. Remove the potatoes from the oven and immediately pour the cheddar cheese, the peas and the onion over them . Then sprinkle a pinch of parsley on top and that’s it!

Put the potatoes in the oven at a temperature of 200ºC for 20 or 30 minutes. Once the first ten minutes have passed, open the oven and, without removing the potatoes completely from the oven, sprinkle on the mixture of orange juice, wine and rosemary. Put the tray back in the oven and let it finish cooking.
