Four Delicious Drinks to Detox Your Colon

27 September, 2020
Your colon is responsible for doing many things, from absorbing nutrients to helping your body expel waste. Take care of it with these four delicious and natural detox drinks.

Green drinks to detox your colon and other organs of the body are a supplement that can be included in your diet both regularly and occasionally. For example, they can be consumed as a snack after training or simply when you feel like it.

The detox trend proposes these juices and other drinks (made from natural ingredients) in order to improve the function of your body’s organs and thus reduce the risk of suffering from diseases. Part of the idea is to take advantage of the nutritional contribution of the ingredients in order to be able to supplement your diet and make sure you get everything you need.

Apart from this, drinking a homemade preparation is beneficial because with this you can avoid the consumption of industrial beverages (such as teas, flavored waters, soft drinks, etc.), which instead of providing nutrients, most of the time provide empty calories and large amounts of sugar.

  • Optional: 1 green apple / 4 leaves of romaine lettuce

  • First, wash each of the ingredients well.
  • Next, pour the water in the blender (be sure to add the right amount for each one) so there aren’t any big chunks left after blending.
  • Then, add each ingredient in the blender and blend it all together.
  • In general, we recommend drinking this green drink just before breakfast or as a late morning snack.

Don’t add extra sugar or sweeteners

Green detox juices aren’t a substitute for main meals, but supplements you can include in your diet in moderation. The idea is to prepare them with fresh, natural ingredients and serve them at the moment, to enjoy them to their fullest.

It’s not recommended adding sugar or sweeteners, since naturally, the idea is to enjoy the flavors that the ingredients offer. This allows you to avoid excessive consumption of sugar, as indicated by the World Health Organization.

If you want your green juice to be thicker, just add oats or fruits like bananas to make smoothies, which are consistent and provide creaminess.
