Many people dream of having a flat stomach, which is important not only to our appearance but also our health. However, for many people, this is a difficult goal because they want results without making an effort or doing any exercise, something which is, without a doubt, impossible.

In order to have the abs of our dreams, you need to put in the work and just doing 20 or so crunches isn’t going to cut it. You need a total body exercise, like aerobics, to prevent fat from accumulating in this part of the body.

When you start doing your ab exercises, try to exercise every group and don’t spend all your time on just one. Consistency is key if you want to reach your goal.

Start with a few repetitions and try to exercise for 20 minutes. Increase both the weight you’re lifting and the time you exercise little by little.

Why does fat accumulate?

Typically, fat accumulates around the abdomen as a result of the poor nutritional choices we make by eating foods high in fat. A lack of fresh fruit and vegetables in our diet is another contributing factor. Things like stress, hormones, and a sedentary lifestyle also lead to the accumulation of fat.

  • Eliminate all high-fat foods from your diet and try to choose healthier foods like fruits and vegetables.
  • Exercising regularly can help you lose weight or at the very least minimize the level of fat that accumulates.
  • Avoid large meals. It’s better to eat smaller meals throughout the day, remembering to choose foods that are nutritious and low in calories.
  • Drink six to eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated.
  • Try to avoid foods like sauces, mayonnaise, chocolate, and ice cream as they are high in fat. Try to eat more nuts, fish, and olive oil.
  • Reduce your consumption of sugary foods and soft drinks.
  • Your last meal of the day should be at least two hours before going to bed and it should be a light meal, preferably vegetables. A delicious salad is a great choice.
  • It’s better to do aerobic exercises in the morning.

It’s important to remember that you can gain the fat that you eliminate in a jiffy if you neglect your exercise routine and return to old habits. Thus, the best thing is to be consistent and put in the work because the results are worth a little sacrifice.
